morning light falls slant
snow-patches glinting in sunlight
our journey begins
***
half water, half ice
six geese walking on the pond
done fishing for now
***
brook-stones form a bridge
waters rush beneath my feet
pink quartz, mica-shine
adam, made from earth
lover still hidden inside—
now awakening
I think of you wherever I am
tree on the hillside
bearing white seeds in winter—
take one, wanderer
I open the seed
the seed falls to the good earth
becoming new life
***
geese still wandering
beaks to the western mountains
one duck swims alone
***
old grass underfoot
pinecones scattered on the ground
bright birches, dark firs
