Seven Snowy Egrets & a Mysterious Sandpiper

Today, I saw seven Snowy Egrets, two American Avocets, and the usual plethora of Canadian geese, Mallard ducks, cormorants, barns swallows, and blackbirds in Belmar Park. I heard the singing of the red-winged blackbirds and noticed a female in a squabble with a blackbird — who flew off. There was also a small, gray-and-white sandpiper, perhaps a Least Sandpiper, but I’ve yet to determine the exact identification.

I will have to go back.
