A Ginko Tree and a Sharp-shinned Hawk

The most beautiful thing I saw on my walk this morning was a gingko tree whose leaves have turned all yellow. She was shining in the sun. Many of her leaves have fallen around her like a veil sweeping around her feet on the green hill.

I also saw Sharp-shinned Hawk, easily identifiable by the horizontal barring on his breast. He flew into the branches of the tree right in front of me and was actively searching the ground below when he noticed me watching him. He took off soon after, with black crows pestering him. I think he soared into some tall eucalyptus trees nearby. But the crows obviously don’t want him here.

Still, I hope I’ll see him again.
