Eastern Kingbird

Yesterday, I was walking down Cowell Blvd toward Willowcreek Park when I heard a distinctive bird-song. I immediately looked up and around for its source. I saw a blackbird with a white breast and a black but  white-tipped tail on the top-most point of a very tall pine tree, singing his heart out in the sunlight.

When I went home to identify the bird by appearance and song (thanks to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology – online, which includes recordings), I confirmed that I had seen an Eastern Kingbird:
