A couple of weeks ago, I glanced up in my Pomelo tree and thought that I saw, among the white-crowned sparrows, a golden-crowned sparrow. I had been hoping for this! The second time, I saw the golden-crowned sparrow on the ground, on the path near the bushes, and he flew up into the tree. The other day, the bird flew out of the tree, right in front me, and showed me his golden crown!

If it weren’t for allergy season and the end of the quarter at UC Davis, I would’ve made note of this sooner.
